What was the highlight of Natural Hot Spring Yaoji Hakata Hotel
Good value and facilities for a short stay in Fukuoka.
The hotel is a short walk from Hakata Station, which was great for us as we arrived by Shinkansen. Good value for money. Breakfast was varied and good value. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. They were prepared for English speaking foreigners, but with limited English. Access to the onsen in the hotel was free for hotel guests. Rooms were clean and a pretty good size for Japan.
Signage as you enter the building is nonexistent. It's like walking into an office building. By the elevator there was a sign (but not in English) that says the reception is on the 1st floor UK/2nd Floor US. We found the beds a bit flat and hard. Having the onsen on site was fantastic, but we did find it crowded in the evening when the number of non-residents was high.

Very Good
Place was clean and quiet. The bath was authentic: peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was superb!
The staff was polite and quite helpful, but in the special case of trains being cancelled due to heavy rains, they could not give me any helpful information.

Nice last minute stay
Breakfast was great! Buffet had a wide selection of items. Did not get tired of it after 3 days. Location was good. 10 minutes from train station. Lots of convenience stores close by and even found our "favorite new" Izakaya. Enjoyed the hot spring bath.
The front desk staff could have been friendlier. Not sure if it was a language barrier, but requesting a late check out then asking them to hold our luggage after check out seemed to be very cumbersome for them. It took awhile to accomplish these tasks, the second not getting done. Would have been nice to have the hot spring in the main hotel instead of next door.
